Join us in shared public delight at the Garfield Park Conservatory on 3 Wednesday evenings this summer, where we invite the public to get better at something together! Bring your violin, your harmonica, your ukulele, or whatever instrument it is you play and practice it anywhere in the Conservatory or on the Conservatory grounds. Take a break and join your family for a picnic, explore the urban nature around you, and watch others get better. This is a great event for all ages and all skill levels.

Public Practice Tuning on Great Lawn begins at 7:15 pm. Song led by unique musical guest begins at 7:30 pm. Group playing around the fire completes the evening. (For everyone’s simple enjoyment, no amplification, busking, or promotional activities, please!)

August 21 - Bring your singing voices and your flashlights!

Do you like to sing in public? Come join public art, song, and pageant group Opera-Matic as they guide us in serenading the full moon and the Summer Triangle constellation of stars. Or work with others to carry and float a giant moon in a solo procession around the circular pathway of the City Garden. As it gets darker, stop by the telescopes to view the heavens staffed by local astronomy volunteers. Adler Planetarium and Northwestern University astronomers will be on hand to answer questions and help guide you through the Universe above us. Get an up-close peek at the constellations and planets we will literally sing into being during tonight's group effort performance.
