Music Under Glass: Chicago West Community Music Center presents Paris Noir

March 4, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Limited tickets available day of concert for $20.  You can purchase here or on-site starting at 2pm in the Show House.  Cash/check/credit accepted.  

The Chicago West Community Music Center  (CWCMC) will present Paris Noir: African-Americans in “The City of Lights”.  A live tribute to Nina Simone, Josephine Baker, Eartha Kitt, Bricktop and Sidney Bechet.  Featuring vocalist Karla Beard-Leroy.

Karla is excited to make her debut at the Garfield Park Conservatory’s Music Under Glass series in Paris Noir:  African-Americans in the City of Lights after playing Sarah in Porchlight Theatre’s acclaimed production of Ragtime.  She portrayed the Princess in Ravinia’s Princess and the Black-eyed Pea.  She was Dessa Rose in the Midwest premier of Dessa Rose at AppleTree Theatre (Jeff Nomination) & Ti Moune, Once on this Island  (Jeff Nomination). Other credits include Mamma Mia (National Tour); The Piano Lesson (Madison Rep), Gigi, Miss Saigon (Marriott Lincolnshire); Charlaine, Ain’t Misbehavin (Arkansas Rep); The Amen Corner(Goodman Theater); Celeste #2, Sunday in the Park with George (Ravinia); God and Country (Victory Gardens).
